Lamb's Ear, or stachys byzanina, are mostly grown for their gray/silver green leaves with fuzzy texture.  Great for children, they are really marvelous and fun to touch.  They are "deer resistant," but I use that term loosely!  According to the Better Homes and Gardens site: "Lamb's ears is a top pick for a groundcover in a hot, baked spot. Its silver felted foliage quickly forms a dense, delightful mat. It also contrasts nicely with other foliage and most flowers, enhances almost everything."
