Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) is a perennial with nice fern-like foliage and showy flower clusters that are easy to grow and perfect for NC's sometime overbearing heat, is a drought tolerant perennial with fern-like, lacy leaves and large, flat flowers. It has a long blooming period: June through September. It will grow (and bloom best) in full sun but will tolerate a little shade. Mature size is about 24" tall and 15" wide. They are considered one of the "deer-resistant" plants and attracts loads of butterflies.
